Hermosa Vida is a collaborative effort between community members, organizations, and local government working together in Flagstaff to make the healthier choice the easier choice.
Hermosa Vida emerged in 2010 with grant funding from the Kresge Foundation, which will continue support until the end of January 2015. Additional funding from March 2013 through September 2014 comes from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s REACH (Racial and Ethnic Approaches to Community Health) program.
Hermosa Vida recognizes that many Flagstaff residents understand what it means to lead a healthy lifestyle but experience barriers that make living a healthy life more difficult than it needs to be.
Hermosa Vida works to provide opportunities for overcoming these barriers and reducing health disparities between different groups of people by working at the individual, community, and policy level. Through community supported collaborative efforts with Hermosa Vida partners we have seen that when a diverse team comes together with a single focus, big changes can occur.
